Visit the Donkey Trail Bohemian Paradise Farm - meet the donkeys

Welcome to the Donkey Trail, a place where dreams of a peaceful retreat in nature become reality. This family farm was born out of a deep love for nature and animals, and above all out of a fascination with donkeys, these amazing creatures who teach us patience, humility and joy in the little things every day.

The farm is the ideal place for nature and animal lovers who are looking for unique experiences and want to learn more about these fascinating creatures. This farm is the first of its kind in the Czech Republic to work with donkeys on such a scale and concept. People come from all over the country to experience a unique contact with these amazing animals.

The Donkey Trail offers guided tours, where you can see donkeys of different breeds and sizes, including rare species - from a mini donkey the size of a dog to the largest donkey in the country, Badea de Poitou, the size of a horse, learn many interesting facts about their nature, origin and breeding, you can pet, brush, photograph or feed them. Or dare to try leading a donkey on the obstacle course (trail park). Then you can go for a walk with a donkey (donkey trekking - you lead the donkey yourself), where you can enjoy the peace and beauty of the surrounding nature. Children up to 50 kg can try riding in the saddle.

But it's not just a case of putting the donkey on a lead and going! The donkey is a confident, intelligent and very sensitive animal. It easily recognises our emotions, attitudes and intentions. In order for him to go for a walk with you, you have to earn his trust and be a worthy partner for him. And you will learn what that means at the leadership briefing.

The Donkey Trail is a place where you forget your worries, slow down and start to experience the present moment.

• Areál Tatobity / Bohemian Paradise - 15 min east of Turnov - this area

From 2025, the main campus is a farm in Český ráj, where we recommend the Farm Visit programme.

The area of the Donkey Trail in Český ráj covers an area of about 2 hectares in a quiet, enclosed valley surrounded by mature trees and greenery. Even on hot days there is pleasant shade and peace. There are various seating areas, hammocks, deck chairs and plenty of space for watching the donkeys and relaxing.
The area includes a larger trail park with bridges, a stream and climbing elements, as well as a circuit around the paddocks (approx. 500 m) which allows for longer rides for children or leisurely walks - all without having to leave the farm. You can also make your visit more enjoyable with a picnic in the countryside.

The area in Svárovo u Prahy is smaller, with limited facilities, as it is located in a rental area. However, it is situated right next to the forest and is ideal as a starting point for walks and hikes with donkeys. That is why programmes such as the Donkey Walk or the Half Day Hike are most suitable here.

The farm visit programme in Svárov is more suitable for families with very young children or for those who are unable to come to Český ráj.

There are two variants of visits:

• Farm Visit Donkey Trail Bohemian Paradise - for the little ones
• Visit to the Bohemian Paradise Donkey Trail Farm - guided tour including trail park and rides for children

There are also 3 variants of a walk/hike with a donkey:

• Individual visit including donkey walk 2-3 km for up to 5 people
• Individual half-day hike with 2 donkeys and picnic for up to 5 people
• Donkey walk - trek 2-3 km - farm visit including walk
